Tingler Innovations VersaVice™ is a handy but small vise designed to fit into your toolbag. It's at home for clamping rectangular connectors like d-subs for soldering, or use it to support the SolderBuddy ACS.

Made of maple, with stainless steel guide pins, the VersaVice jaws open to a maximum of 1.5-inches and it includes a flexible version of the familiar SolderBuddy post/clip cable support. If you have to have a vice, make it a VersaVice.
